I’ve got a life plan for the next few years that includes obtaining my online accounting degree, and that’s a very exciting prospect for me. Nobody in my family went to college, so I could be the first to graduate and hang a diploma on the wall of our household. I initially wanted to follow suit; my father and mother are both rather successful, but neither of them went to college, so I figured, “Why should I spend a lot of money when I can find success without a degree?” It’s true, not everybody who is living their dreams has been to college, but I’m now realizing, especially with the tough job market, that going to college is a blessing and right now, it’s sort of a haven considering how tough things are. So I think I’m going to continue to work my food service job while I attempt to enroll in some online courses, just to test the waters. Then, the sky’s the limit!
